Terms & Conditions
1. Working Time

Customers shall give access to the required working area to SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd engineers during usual working hours. In the event that this cannot be done or if this is not given and overtime had been worked at the customer’s request, the extra cost will be chargeable in addition to the quoted price. There is a minimum charge of 1 hour for each and every job unless quoted otherwise. All rates exclude the cost of materials, parking and congestion charge. Jobs will be charged from the time the engineer arrives on site until the time they leave the site (Having completed the task given). If the job is not complete on the same day and the engineer must return at a later date, then you will only be charged for the time the engineer has currently been there and the time when he returns to carry out the necessary procedures to complete the job. 2. Cancellations

Cancellations must be made within 10 minutes from the confirmation of your booking before engineers are despatched or you will be liable for a minimum 1 hours charge.

3. Customer Requirements

Every effort will be made to meet the requirements of the customer but no guarantee can be given of the date of commencement or completion of work. SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd accepts no responsibility for any delay in the execution of work or damage or inconvenience caused due to labour disputes, fire, accident, non-delivery or shortage of materials or other causes beyond SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd control. Occasionally SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd attempts to affect a repair or to clear a drain will be unsuccessful. Provided that SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd decision to attempt the work was made in good faith, all time spent in conducting such work will be charged for at normal rates, even where the work is unsuccessful.

4. Making Good etc.

Every care and attention will be taken by all engineers representing SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd whilst carrying out work on-site, we do not accept any responsibility or liable damage to plaster work, decorations, flooring or damage to any other goods. Core holes cuts and other damages made to accommodate installations will be made but not permanently finished or decorated. Floorboards will not be permanently fixed. Also whilst SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd engineers carry stock on board, collection for materials, which are required will be charged as part of our hourly rates. However, you will be able to track the engineer and at any time you wish to demand the engineer to return because they are taking too long. This can be due to traffic or shops not having the part needed and alternative must go to another location to get it. You can ask them to return to complete whatever they can without the part. At this point we do not hold responsibility of the job not being totally complete as parts needed have not been purchased. This is at your discretion and SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd will not be held liable. You will be fully informed of what parts are needed and will be given a rough figure of how much it will cost. A deposit will be required

5. Water Heating

Quotations for water heating installations are based on the assumption that the existing plumbing system is in a satisfactory condition. No responsibility is accepted for defects arising in water tank pipes etc during or subsequent to installation work by SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd.

6. Wayleaves

The customer shall be responsible for obtaining and retaining any necessary consents, easements or wayleaves and for any reinstatements of disturbed ground in the case of extensions to underground distributing lines which are within the customers own property or on privately owned property over which the customer has rights or access or a tenancy.

7. Licenses

Any license, permit or other authority necessary for any execution of the work shall be obtained by the customer.

8. Guarantee

Subject as mentioned above, SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd guarantee all equipment, all equipment installation and apparatus supplied and fixed or supplied only under this quotation for a period of 100 days from the date completion of the work and undertakes to repair or replace the same as its option in the event them becoming defective and/or to remedy any defects which are found to be due to faulty workmanship within that period, free of cost unless otherwise specified in the quotation. SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd guarantee does not cover drain clearance. SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd guarantee does not cover any temporary repairs.

SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd guarantee does not cover defects due to fair wear and tear, the replacement of lamps or fuses or any causes beyond the control of SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd. If any repairs, alternations or additions to the equipment, installation and/or apparatus are carried out by any person who has not been specifically authorised by SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd then the guarantee shall be null and void.

9. Complaints

Where we cannot resolve any complaints using our own complaints procedure, as a Which? Trusted trader we use Dispute Resolution Ombudsman for dispute resolution. 10. Rates

SK Electrical Services(UK) Ltd Rates are as stated on our website or unless otherwise quoted.

11 Terms of Payment

Payment shall become due on demand unless otherwise agree. Failure to pay will incur an interest charge of 2% per month until full payment is received. Progress payments (if applied for) at not less than fortnightly intervals for total value of the work and/or materials delivered to the site or to SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd stores, shall be made within fourteen days of the application.

All deposits paid towards the purchase of materials and/or towards the total charge contracts will be strictly non-refundable. In the event of a progress payment not being made in full within the time above mentioned SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd shall have the right to stop all work forthwith and shall at its option be entitled to treat the contract as having been repudiated by the customer for the work done and materials supplied on a quantum merit basis, without prejudice to SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd right to claim damages for breach of contract or any loss incurred in respect of plant or materials purchased or prepared for the work, but should SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd elect to resume work upon such payment being made the expense incurred by such stoppage and subsequent resumption of shall be chargeable to the customer in addition to the quoted price. The non-completion of the building as a whole or the work of any other trade shall not affect or delay any payment due. SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd retain a lieu upon all materials, plant and machinery, even though installed or delivered on site, for the whole of any unpaid balance due to SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd hereunder. Any remaining 1st Call property until paid in full, but SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd shall be entitled to bring action for the price of such goods even though property therein has not passed.

12. Extra Cost

In the event of suspension or cancellation of work at the request of the customer or lack of instruction or delay on site caused by matters beyond the control of SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd expenses thereby incurred shall be chargeable to the customer, the extra cost incurred including reasonable additions for administration expenses and overheard charges will be met by the customer.

13. Provisional Sums, Variations and Additions to Contract

Where the quotation includes a provisional sum for meeting the cost of provisional or specialists work to be done or materials or apparatus to be supplied, such sums shall be expended or used wholly or in part, at the discretion of the customer and entirely as he/she may desire or direct. Charges for work carried out by SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd included in any provisional sums and charges for additions and variations to the contract shall in the absence of supplementary estimated, be invoiced at standard day work rates for contract additions in accordance with the quotation or otherwise agreed beforehand.

14. Fittings

Position of fittings, lighting points, switches etc if not provided for in the quotation or an associated drawing are to be determined before work is commenced and any changes required therein shall be notified by the customer to SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd in writing in sufficient time not to impede the progress of the work. Any extra work necessary to meet such changes will be chargeable to the customer in addition to quoted price.

15. Tests

Installation work will be tested during progress and upon completion for insulation resistance, earthing and continuity. These tests comply with the current edition of the IEE Regulations for the Electrical Equipment of Buildings. Any other tests required by the customer will be charged for as an extra to the quoted price unless such tests are definitely specified and included in the quotation.

16. Loss or Damage

SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd shall not be responsible for any consequential damage or loss arising out of the performance (or non performance) of the contract.

17. Damage in Transit

Where the price quoted includes delivery SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd repair or replace free of charge goods if cause by our damage in transit.

18. Conditions of Contract

Our conditions of contract is applied in full to all quotations and work carried out and/or apparatus or equipment supplied by SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd except where other quotations are specifically agreed in writing to the contrary. SK Electrical Services (UK) Ltd liability in negligence arising from the supply of goods or services or work carried out shall in no event exceed the value of the goods or services or work supplied.

19. Taxation

Prices quoted are subject to any and all subsequent variation in taxation.

20. Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977

If the customer deals as a consumer as defined in section 12 of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, the customers statutory rights in relation to any terms implied by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 to be affected.
